PERCUSSION AUDITION PREPARATION

Welcome to the 2019 Troopers Drum Line Auditions! Congratulations on taking the first steps to become a member of the Troopers Percussion Section. Auditions are a multi-step process that will begin in November and last for the entire duration of each camp.

Your audition will include several aspects including an individual audition, group playing evaluation and sight reading assessment.

Video Auditions:
Video auditions are for extending circumstances and will only result in an invitation to the next audition camp. We must see you in an ensemble setting at camp before a spot will be offered.

Attendance:
Attendance at all camps is critical to our success as a section. Missing any or all of a camp is only permitted on a case by case basis and must be approved by both the corps director and caption head. It is an expectation that you will make every reasonable effort to attend any part of a rehearsal that does not conflict with an approved event. If you have a conflict with a camp, please email well in advance.

Any camp absences, whether excused or unexcused, may be grounds to revoke a contract.

Everyone should bring their own pad and sticks or mallets for the instrument they are auditioning for. For snare and tenor players: If possible, please bring a drum. There is a strong likelihood of having more players than equipment. We are certain it will be a successful year and we hope you can be a part of it.

Best of luck at the audition!
